β A Question For You
I've been thinking a lot about travelling lately, as I often do. Some of that thinking has led me to consider starting a new publication or newsletter focused on journaling, travel, and the random thoughts I have. Last year, I went on my first solo trip, which sparked a lot of introspection.
I enjoy deep contemplation, and it would be nice to share my thoughts with others instead of keeping them just in my head. Iβm not sure what the posts would be like but I think theyβd be similar to these:
Now, the main question is whether to add it to this newsletter as a new section or to launch a completely separate one. I'm leaning towards starting new, but then the challenge becomes deciding what to name it.
π₯ French
This week was fairly typical for me. I spent some time working in French Tutor, did a lot of reading, and had a conversation lesson over the weekend. On Friday evening, I had a busy schedule and was hoping that I hadn't booked a French lesson for Saturday morning.
Unfortunately, I did have a lesson scheduled, and it was actually 30 minutes earlier than my usual time. Despite my initial reluctance, the lesson turned out well. It's one of those situations where you're hesitant beforehand but feel glad afterward that you went through with it.
During the lesson, I talked about my week and discussed my upcoming travel plans. My tutor was excellent and even found a resource related to travel, a collection of travel quotes, that I read out. After reading them, I shared my thoughts on whether I agreed with each quote. It was a fun way for me to practice sharing opinions in French without being concerned about whether I was answering the question correctly.
ποΈ Icelandic
On Friday, as I was on my way to work, a random song that wasnβt on my playlist started playing. It turned out to be the Icelandic song Γg var aΓ° spΓ‘. Later that day, we had a family event where families visited the classroom.
During the event, a family asked me about the languages I'm currently learning, knowing that I enjoy learning languages. I mentioned that I'm still focusing on French but also dabble in other languages. This sparked a conversation about Iceland, which reignited my interest in exploring the language over the weekend.
I'm usually quite picky with songs and tend to replay the same ones until I find another I like more. Discovering a new song was exciting and motivated me to engage in some Icelandic study over the weekend.

New around here? Iβd love it if you filled out this new reader survey!
Thanks for reading, see you next week!
I like your content for you as a person rather than for a specific topic. I think travels go into the same "cultural content" category as languages. I'd be happy to read on the same newsletter! Especially if there's a travel journal involved π
