Over the past few weeks, I’ve found myself enjoying the process of learning French again. After a period of stagnation, where I was mostly maintaining what I knew, I wasn’t sure how to move forward. But now, with the DELF exam as my guide, I’ve been rediscovering my motivation by finding new ways to improve, speak more, and truly engage with the language again.
Since my last update, I finally visited a French bookstore I’d been wanting to go to for over a year. Until now, my only experience with French bookstores was during my trip to Montreal. That visit last year helped prepare me for this one, just outside my city.
As I walked in, the bookstore owner greeted me with a Bonjour. Outside of work or conversations with my coworkers, I rarely use French in everyday life. I greeted her back and started browsing along with one other person in the store.
