I haven't heard of it. Can the podcast, speaking, and reading all count towards the 60 minutes of language study? If so, I may be able to do it when I'm not traveling this summer
I assumed so when I read the rules. It would be a lot to have to do 60 minutes plus additional time for reading and speaking. The creator of the challenge made this video explaining the rules: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2vK4fWDurc&t=40s
I've heard of it but thought it might be too much for me since I have a bunch of other stuff going on and can only really dedicate 45 minutes to an hour a day
I also felt it would be too much, which is why I haven't tried it yet. I'd have to give it a go only when I have a lot of free time. 45 minutes to an hour a day is a great amount of time to spend on language learning! Thanks for reading.
正欲 by 朝井リョウ was one of the most shocking and thought-provoking books I read this year. It really stayed with me, and honestly, it felt like it completely challenged and overturned some of my own values and assumptions. It was a very powerful reading experience for me. Asai Ryo is also a very popular writer in Japan right now, and he even won the Booksellers’ Award this year with another novel. Personally, I also highly recommend his essays. They are surprisingly funny — the kind of books that make you laugh out loud sometimes. My favourite essay collection by him is 時をかけるゆとり. It’s witty, honest, and very entertaining.
Now I'm even more interested in reading the book! There seems to be a movie based on it as well. I'll have to check it out, and maybe one day I'll be able to read it in Japanese. I'll also make sure to check out that essay collection as well. Thank you so much for sharing!
