The Language Bingo Board Challenge
A month long challenge made by language learners
We’re nearing the end of winter and the first quarter of the year. I’ve noticed myself losing the consistency I had during the first few days of the year. To combat that, four other language learners (Tanya, Jo, Mariana, and Asia) and I have been using monthly challenges and accountability to keep language learning fun this year!
Most of my language learning has been solitary, and I’ve found that learning with others is a great way to feel motivated to study and reflect on my studies.
In the month of January, we aimed to complete a language resource. For March, we have decided to create a list of 5 language activities each and compile them into a bingo board for each of us to complete during the month of March.
As you know, I love project boards, so this challenge is right up my alley! I decided to share it with you all if you are looking for new activities or tasks to add to your language learning routine. The challenge starts this Sunday, March 1st, and runs until the 28th! But, this board can be completed at any time you need something to change up your routine.
The Language Bingo Board Challenge
Like my usual project boards, this Language Bingo Board is organized with numbers 1–5 for the rows and letters A–E for the columns. I find this makes it much easier to reference specific squares (for example, A1 is “Play a video game with TL text or audio”).
You’ll also notice that each square is colour-coded to represent the person who created the prompt.
How to Use the Board
You can use this board however you like, but if you’d prefer a bit of structure, here’s one way to approach it:
Choose an activity to complete each day yourself, or use the spinning wheel I created to be given a random activity.
Adapt the tasks as needed to fit your target language and your current level.
Since the challenge runs for 28 days and there are only 25 squares, you have 3 skip days!
Don’t forget to have fun and feel free to share your progress!
We hope that with this challenge, we can find new ways to use the resources we have and add a bit of fun back into our language learning routines!
There’s still a week before the challenge starts, and I’m already so excited. I’m going to aim to complete all 25 prompts during the month. Are any prompts already calling out to you?
I can’t wait to see how you all choose to do this challenge!
Happy language learning! ✨

Language bingo is the best! I started using them last year and got a few friends into them too. I've already made one for myself for this year, so I won't be using yours this time, but I'll follow along with my own. Good luck with your challenge! I hope you have fun and enjoy your language journey!
Nice, I will use it:)
