My language comfort zone is anything input as well. Language learning as an input activity minimizes social pressure, as it doesn't require immediate conversations or extensive social interactions. Listening is always the most comfortable for me. Another things that makes me feel so comfy is subtitles in my TL, it's like having the words as an anchor for my attention and comprehension.

Yes! I love having subtitles on in my TLs too especially when watching dramas. Even if I have English subs available I always prefer to also have TL subs. In Mandarin is common things will get lost in translation. TL subs ensure I'm able to get the true meaning and take in the context π
