I have been rating the books I read for ages now, however it's only been about a year since I started reading intensively in Korean (and started eating those books too). And I must say, I love the idea you mentioned of creating a different kind of rating for books in the target language, including aspects such as how easy it is to understand etc.

I was trying to think of what else could be interesting to rate in that context: Maybe how much a book helps to acquire a certain type of vocabulary? (For example a thriller helping to learn vocabulary in the field of investigation, crime etc).

If you create a rating specific for books in a target language, I'd love to see what are the aspects you choose to rate!

Thank you for this great idea ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ“š

That's a great idea! I'm still toying with the idea because I know that my rating may change depending on the language, so I'd like a system that can be applied to all the books I read in all the languages. It's a work in progress, and if I ever come up with something, I'll be more than happy to share!

When you rate the books you read in Korean, do you rate them similarly to how you rate the books you read in English?

No, until now I haven't had a separate rating for Korean and English books (or German or French either), but I am definitely going to implement a rating for "not-my-native-language books" in some way. Just like you, I just need a quiet moment to think a bit more deeply about it and decide what would be best. Maybe in two weeks during my vacation, we shall see!
